Appearance

Customise how CDE looks, color scheme, theme, and fonts for the UI, code blocks, and terminal.

Appearance customises how CDE looks, manage it from Settings → Application → Appearance.

Theme

SettingWhat it controls
Color schemeWhether CDE follows the system, or is forced to light or dark
ThemeThe specific theme CDE renders (for example Dark, Light, Dark Modern, GitHub Dark, Obsidian Dark, Sky)

Color scheme and Theme are separate settings: color scheme picks light vs dark at a high level, theme picks the exact palette within that. Several shortcuts cycle these directly, see Shortcuts.

Fonts

SettingWhat it controls
UI FontThe font used throughout the interface
Code FontThe font used in code blocks
Terminal FontThe font used in the integrated terminal

Each font can be set independently, for example running a monospace font (like Berkeley Mono) in the terminal and code blocks while keeping a different UI font for everything else.
